Weheliye App Weheliye App, meaning a companion, is a one-stop digital safety resource mobile application for Somali women journalists. The app is intended to provide Somali women journalists, who are the most attacked groups online, with the tools and resources they need to minimize, prevent, and handle many different forms of online harassment and navigate the internet without fear.The app was developed by Somali Women Journalists Rights Association (SOWJRA), a women-owned non-government and non-profit organization that was founded in 2017 in Somalia by experienced and dedicated women journalists to represent and defend the rights of women in the media, promote gender balance in the mass media, end all forms of gender-based violence against women and girls, and improve gender equality in Somalia.
